About Us

For two generations, the founders of BLT Merchandise, Inc. have been importing, manufacturing, and selling merchandise from Asia. Being one of the first to visit and conduct business with China, we acquired a great deal of experience and knowledge in the Chinese products available.

One of our specialties is Martial Arts supplies. We regularly traveled to countries all over Asia to bring to the consumer authentic martial arts merchandise, such as weapons, uniforms, and training equipment. Since the explosion of Martial Arts in the early 1970's, BLT Supplies, Inc. had noticed that there were great demand, but a shortage of equipment for this action sport. Many of our products were originally imported from Hong Kong and Taiwan. When the Republic of China relaxed its trade policy with the West, we took advantage of that country's rich supply and knowledge in Martial Arts.

BLT Merchandise, Inc. modified many of the traditional Martial Arts products to add greater conveniences for the American consumers. For example, the traditional Kung Fu uniform pants was worn with a cloth sash (as a belt) to be wrapped around the waist. We re-designed it with pockets and draw-string ties. We also made our weapons with larger grips. To this day, we continue to improve the quality and function of our equipment and uniforms, without sacrificing the authenticity.

With the increased demand for ethnic-styled merchandises in the American home furnishing business, we recently expanded our website by adding a gift and porcelain section. Throughout our travels in China, we found beautifully crafted collectible like hand-painted large floor porcelain vases, Ming medallions styled in traditional royal Chinese colors, to table-top Chinese "Faberge" eggs. All of which can make a great gift item. The inventory will be added to as we find more great Chinese treasures on our trips to China, so visit our site often.
